Implicit Bias

Did you know that we have thoughts and feelings that are outside our conscious awareness? This is our implicit bias and negatively shapes our perception of other people.

We all interact with other people – at work, the grocery store, out with friends, interacting with our family, travelling the world or even the neighbourhood up the road.

I believe that each of us is authentic and unique but I am also aware that I may hold opinions about a person that may not be true.

Education is important!

This is where Project Implicit can help you grow as an individual. This virtual laboratory is run by Harvard scientists. They use this research to gain knowledge about bias and disparities and then create practical applications to address implicit bias.

Each test is approximately 10 minutes and includes tests on religion, skin colour, disabled/abled bodies, weight, gender, and 2SLGQBT+.

Your results may be uncomfortable. I invite you to sit in this discomfort and reflect on how your bias may have reflected in past decisions. Then grow from this new knowledge.
