‘Twas the Night Before Christmas and all through our house, a cold bug has been brewing by my child and the spouse. The stockings are stuffed under the tree without care, and little one is hoping for more presents under there.
Ok – enough of my bad poetry. Here is a round up of some Christmas themed articles for your reading pleasure!
Twas the Night Before Christmas
Apparently, people in Iceland have a tradition of giving books on Christmas Eve. I love this idea! The article on Treehugger will encourage you to grab a cup of tea, find a cozy spot and read something before the craziness of Christmas Day begins.
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
I don’t like fake sugar, fake tans, or fake people. But a fake Christmas tree, I like. I grew up with a fake tree and happily have one (just one) in my home. I couldn’t argue with this article on Today that having a pre-lit fake tree that doesn’t require watering or vacuuming makes my Christmas happier.
Sugar Dancing in Our Heads
The holiday season is about candy canes, fruitcake, shortbread cookies, gingerbread houses, eggnog, booze, and various other gloriously delicious sugary treats. A dental agency in the UK, wants to remind you “Ho Ho How Much Sugar?” you are having with all the sugary drinks. Just a little reminder to us all before the eating and drinking on the big day begins.
The Elf on the Shelf
Despite the fact that there is a four year old in my house, we have no elf visiting us. Perhaps this is because I find it slightly creepy, but more likely that I am too lazy to find creative ways to pose it each day. That Dad Blog has taken it a step further and brought the elf to life. Make sure you go through all his photos and give yourself a giggle this holiday.
Lastly, best wishes from my family during this Holiday Season. No matter what you celebrate, I hope you have the opportunity to spend time with the family and friends you love.
