Wardrobe Refresh: Flower Pin

Not all refreshes have to take time or require a set of skills. This refresh took me longer to find the scissors than it did to cut the thread!

I’ve owned this pin for over fifteen years but it has sat unused for at least five. It has survived multiple wardrobe clear outs but still sits unworn. I finally asked myself a couple of questions:

• Am I keeping it for sentimental reasons?
• Do the colours work with my palette?
• Can I make changes for it to work with my style?

In doing this, I realized that I don’t like the hanging beads. The colours don’t mesh well for me and the hang never seemed to be laid down right. The colours of the flowers work with my wardrobe and it works with my natural style by being a knit.

I hope that this piece now gets an opportunity to shine in my wardrobe. If it doesn’t, then I’ll know that the piece can go to someone else.
