We don’t need a full cupcake recipe. Yes, we are normal people but only a family of three. A full cupcake recipe produces two dozen individual-sized treats. That’s 7 cupcakes for each of us … look, math already! Some would not see this as a problem. In this house, it becomes waste.
Which means that when your child asks for cupcakes for the Living Room Theatre she has planned, you need to do some math. Or better yet, your eight year old practices her division and fractions.
Math is part of our daily lives. You don’t need to make set lesson plans to keep your child occupied. You can cook and bake.
And then enjoy the finished product. Mmmm.
Please share how you are staying occupied and/or items you are cooking/baking. You can respond to this post or reach out through Social Media.
Note: This series was created due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the requirement to practice social distancing and stay home as much as possible. I hope that despite all the closures and the crazy grocery store lines, you can still find opportunities to stay calm, enjoy the extra time with your loved ones, organize the areas that need to be addressed, and find something (book, movie, craft) to bring you enthusiasm. Choose to be as balanced as possible and stay healthy.
